An acclaimed actress, once nominated for an Oscar, was nearly unrecognizable as she morphed into an elderly man during a recent SNL episode.

The 35-year-old actress who took on this new persona for a comedic skit set at a wedding reception was Teyana Taylor, marking her debut as a host on the iconic sketch show.

Earlier in the week, Taylor celebrated her nomination for an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in “One Battle After Another.”

During her hosting stint, Taylor also had the opportunity to display her comedic prowess, taking on the character of a wedding guest in one of the sketches.

The skit began at a wedding reception, where the bride acknowledged the groom’s grandfather, who, despite recently turning 87 and undergoing knee replacements, was present to celebrate.

The camera then cut to Taylor dressed as an old man with a balding head and gray mustache.

‘I wouldn’t have missed this for the world,’ she said in a deep raspy voice.

The groom then joked to his grandpa, ‘I want to see you on the dance floor busting a move.’

But Taylor replied, ‘At my age, most likely to bust a hip than move.’ The DJ then began playing the hit track September by Earth, Wind & Fire.

Grandpa’s son – played by Kenan Thompson – began talking about how proud he is of the groom.

However, Taylor’s character of the older man wasn’t paying attention due to being distracted by the beat of the upbeat tune in the background.

‘They’re playing my song,’ she said while slowly standing up on wobbly legs and using the support of a walker.

But she suddenly began to move her legs and repeated, ‘They’re playing my song. The groove got me.’

Taylor took a step onto the dance floor and called out, ‘Everybody out of the godd*** way.’ She then began spinning and grooving to the track, shocking all of the guests.

The DJ said into the microphone as Taylor kept dancing and jumping, ‘Whoa! Grandpa Jackson’s on the floor!’

Everyone cheered on the older man until Thompson guided Taylor back to the chair to sit down.

The DJ then started to play Let’s Groove – another hit track by Earth, Wind & Fire.

But before Taylor could sit back down, she began showing off more impeccable dance moves. ‘Oh! This is my song!’

‘I thought the last one was your song,’ Thompson said with a concerned tone as he watched his father groove again. Taylor called over the bride and they both danced together until Thompson broke it up.

‘You’re right. You’re right, son, you’re right. Making a fool of myself here. Y’all kids have fun, y’all,’ she said while slowly walking back to the table.

The DJ then started to play Boogie Wonderland – which is yet another song from Earth, Wind & Fire.

Taylor sat up straight in her chair with a smile and started to stand up. Thompson then begged to the DJ, ‘Hey! Stop playing Earth, Wind & Fire dude!’

Taylor began to groove once again as the DJ told the guests, ‘If anyone knows a song that’s not one of grandpa’s songs, feel free to stop by the booth, and let me know!’

But as grandpa began doing a dance move on the floor, a cracking sound was heard -causing Taylor to collapse onto the ground.

Everyone went silent, and Thompson asked if there was a doctor.

One of the guests was and after taking a brief look at Taylor, he said, ‘Oh, I’m afraid this man’s bones are all gone. They all broke at once and turned to powder. There’s nothing I can do for him.’

The DJ then started to play another upbeat song and grandpa was suddenly healed and able to groove again.

Taylor herself is no stranger to dancing – and began doing choreography at an early age. When she was 15, the star notably choreographed the video for Beyonce’s track Ring The Alarm.

Social media users jumped to X to share their thoughts on the transformation, with one penning, ‘TEYANA PLAYING AN OLD MAN YES ABSOLUTELY.’

‘SHES SO UNSERIOUS PLSSS,’ another wrote, and a fan added, ‘That old man got moves!’

An X user shared, ‘The old guy dancing sketch was hilarious,’ and one commented, ‘Teyana is clearly having a blast.’

Earlier in the night, Taylor kicked off her SNL hosting debut with a humorous opening monologue.

Taylor referenced to her recent Oscar nomination as well as her appearance on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen.

The actress is mom to Iman “Junie” Tayla, 10, and Rue Rose, five – and she reflected on parenthood.

‘Man, I really really love my kids so much,’ she told the live audience. ‘I bring them everywhere with me.’

Taylor added, ‘But when I was giving my speech at the Golden Globes, I looked up to see my babies. I wanted to see their faces. Just to see that they were scrolling on their phones.’

At the time of her acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress at the event earlier this month, she had said at one point: ‘Oh my babies, my babies are upstairs watching. Y’all better be off them d**n phones and watching me right now!’

And towards the end of her SNL monologue, Taylor added, ‘But for real I feel so lucky. I’ve worked so hard throughout my career to get to this point.
