Authorities in Utah are investigating a disturbing case involving a mother, Jennifer Gledhill, who stands accused of murdering her husband, Matthew Johnson, while he slept. The incident occurred after what was described as a night of drunken intimacy. Both Gledhill and her husband were wearing Oura Rings, which could be instrumental in uncovering the location of his hidden grave.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office recently unsealed a search warrant that highlights investigators’ focus on data from the Oura rings worn by Gledhill and Johnson. This data, collected between September 20 and October 1, 2024, may be crucial in piecing together the events leading up to Johnson’s suspected murder, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Police are particularly interested in the GPS data logged by the Oura rings, hoping it will provide precise information about where Gledhill may have hidden her husband’s body.
Evidence from the day of the alleged crime includes photos confirming that Gledhill had her ring on. Furthermore, Johnson’s participation in the Utah National Guard is noted, with confirmation that he also owned an Oura ring, as reported by ABC4.
It is alleged that Gledhill, who resides in Cottonwood Heights, turned off her phone and other electronic devices before using a minivan to transport Johnson to a shallow grave. This has complicated efforts to locate the victim’s body.
The 43-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder after she allegedly confessed to her alleged lover, though she did not disclose the location to him, police said.

Following Johnson’s death, the mom of three allegedly reported him missing on Sept. 28 — eight days after detectives believe he was killed.
The cold-blooded killing reportedly came after a night of drunken sex with her husband during which Gledhill admitted to having an affair, according to investigators.
Her alleged lover — who has not been named — claimed Gledhill told him her husband had confronted her on Sept. 20 and “yelled at her because he knew she had been sleeping with someone else.”
“The defendant told [her lover] that she shot Mr. Johnson [the next day] as he slept in their bed … that she put Mr. Johnson’s body into a rooftop storage container, slid him down the stairs of their home, and loaded his body into the back of their minivan,” investigators said in their report.
Gledhill “then took her husband’s body north, dug a hole, and buried him in a shallow grave,” the Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill added.
She was caught on surveillance cameras thoroughly cleaning out the car after the alleged killing.
Gledhill’s parents, Thomas and Rosalie Gledhill, now 73 and 69, respectively, were also arrested and charged after investigators believe they uncovered evidence that they helped their daughter cover up the gruesome crime.
