Pam Bondi reveals terrifying plot to assassinate Charlie Kirk's friend

A man threatened conservative influencer Benny Johnson as part of an ‘Antifa’ plot to emulate Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Pam Bondi said at a fiery press conference Friday.

The Attorney General announced charges against a suspect named as George Isbel Jr. as part of a White House crackdown on political violence, saying he would be prosecuted for mailing threatening communications.

Johnson commands a following of over four million on X and is one of the most outspoken conservative commentators on social media, known for rubbing shoulders with Donald Trump and other influential MAGA stars.

Bondi, speaking on the one-month anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, said the alleged threats against Johnson were part of an ‘Antifa’ plot to ‘wreak havoc on the streets of our cities’, and linked the threats to the shooting of Kirk

‘This arrest will serve as a reminder, we will find you,’ Bondi said, also referencing recent attacks on an ICE facility in Dallas and an anti-Semitic attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s home in April.

Bondi said Johnson faced ‘similar threats’ to Kirk’s assassination because of his conservative stances, saying the suspect mailed a letter to the conservative influencer that ‘made it clear he hated him because of his views and wanted him dead.’

US Attorney Greg Kehoe said the letter was written to Johnson and his wife Kate, which said he wanted to orphan Johnson’s children and ‘strangle him with an American flag.’

It is not the first time that Johnson has been faced with threats, as in 2021 his home in Washington DC was targeted by an arsonist attack.

Bondi echoed her remarks about Kirk’s death as she condemned the alleged plot on Johnson’s life, where she blamed ‘left wing radicals’ for targeting the Trump ally.

‘Who killed Charlie? Left-wing radicals, and they will be held accountable,’ she said at the time.

‘So will anyone in this country who commits a violent crime against anyone. And the death penalty, thanks to Donald Trump, is on the table again.’

Hours before Bondi’s statement on Friday, Johnson took to X to share a picture of himself with his young children, saying they were celebrating a ‘daddy date night.’

‘Nothing fancy. Just burgers and fries. But the girls look forward to this all month. It’s all they talk about,’ he wrote.

‘Core memories, I think… Men, show up for your kids. Strong Dads = Strong Country.’

In 2021, Johnson and his family were targeted by an arsonist attack on their DC home.

Shortly after the jaw-dropping ordeal, the Johnsons moved to Florida to escape the threat of violence, and in August he described the harrowing experience during a trip to the White House.

While speaking with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Johnson said: ‘As a DC resident of 15 years, I lived on Capitol Hill, I witnessed so many muggings and so much theft, I lost track.

‘I was carjacked. I have murders on my Ring camera, mass shootings…And my house was set ablaze in an arson with my infant child inside,’ he said.

‘No parent should have to go through what my family went through – having the fire department rip open their door to save their infant child.’

Last month, Johnson ripped into The New York Times for insinuating his family was not in danger when his DC home was ‘rendered completely uninhabitable’ by the arsonist.

He accused the Times of undermining the terror his wife and children experienced during the attack, and said it downplayed the severity of the incident because he is a right-wing pundit.

‘This is the kind of dehumanizing propaganda that actually gets people killed,’ Johnson wrote in a detailed X post, in which he shared a video of his wife and newborn being rescued from the fire-damaged home,’ he said on X.

‘From the celebration of the Trump assassination to the refusal to pray for the child victims of the Minneapolis Mass shooting, the Left’s goal is to never grant sympathy to regular Americans, even if they’re innocent children. Evil bastards.’

The article in question was titled ‘He Plagiarized and Promoted Falsehoods. The White House Embraces Him,’ and referenced Johnson’s comments in the White House where he detailed the attack.

‘In fact, police records show, nobody has been murdered since at least 2017 on the block where Mr. Johnson lived in Washington,’ the Times reported.

‘And his home was not burned, though his next-door neighbor’s house was “intentionally set” on fire, according to the city’s fire department. Mr. Johnson left Washington permanently in 2021.

‘Such details didn’t stop Ms. Leavitt from leapfrogging off his comments to promote the president’s federalization of Washington’s law enforcement.’

In his response to the NY Times article, Johnson uploaded a video from the arson attack.

The security footage depicts first responders trying to break through the front door as black smoke spreads through the air.

His panicked wife was seen sprinting outside holding their newborn baby when police were finally able to enter the home.

‘We lived in a row house and the house next to us was a total loss. Both their dogs were burned alive in the arson,’ Johnson explained.

‘Our home was rendered completely uninhabitable due to damage from the fire. We had to live in a hotel for months afterwards.’
