OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) A paraplegic man who says he was robbed of important medical equipment is getting a much-needed replacement.
Alan Prudhome told local affiliate KFOR on Sunday that his apartment was broken into twice, just days apart. The thieves took valuables, money, and medical equipment that helped Prudhome navigate his day-to-day life.
After hearing Prudhome’s story, Stacy Reddig, the owner of Wheelchairs for Veterans, says he knew he wanted to help.
“I just cannot believe that somebody would steal this man’s medical equipment, so we jumped all over it,” said Reddig.
Now, Prudhome says he’s gotten back the freedom he was missing.
“I can go where I need to go and I don’t have to worry about not being able to get to appointments,” said Prudhome.
Prudhome expressed how grateful he is for the help he’s received, and says he plans to take down his GoFundMe.
The Oklahoma City Police Department says it’s investigating the robbery and everyone involved.
