A furious plane passenger berated the woman sitting behind him after she made a simple request in a confrontation caught on video.
During a four-hour Cathay Pacific flight from Singapore to Hong Kong on Feb. 1, a male traveler, whose identity remains unknown, reclined his economy seat all the way back. This action caused discomfort to a female traveler seated behind him.
She asked the man to put his seat upright when he became enraged and began furiously yelling and dramatically finger-pointing in her face.
A clip of the meltdown shows the man standing in the aisle, howling a profanity-filled rant at his fellow flier.
“Can I adjust my seat or not — is it in the rule? Shut your God damn mouth!” he screamed.
He then continued to shout, seeming a bit erratic.
“Can I adjust my seat or not?” he repeated.
“When you shouted at my kid, I didn’t respond, but you said I adjust the seat — is not possible. It’s your f–king problem!”
The man then sat back in his seat and put his headphones on as a woman in his group continued the argument with the woman behind him.
According to the individual who captured the incident on video, the man reclined his seat in response to his 2-year-old daughter moving around the aircraft, disturbing fellow passengers in the process.
Despite the presence of a uniformed staff member in the aisle at the start of the recording, no intervention occurred to address the escalating tension between the two travelers.
The scary scene comes as plane passengers have become increasingly angry and confrontational in recent years.
Videos of passengers aggressively arguing, physically fighting and even needing to be restrained are continuously going viral as fellow travelers record the wild situations.
Last week, a video of passengers protesting inside a plane as they were stuck sitting on the tarmac for five hours went viral.
Air India flight AI909 was originally scheduled to take off from Mumbai at 8:25 a.m. and arrive in Dubai at 10:15 am.
A video shows the frustrated travelers standing, yelling and smacking the walls of the plane as they plead for updates and beg to be let off.
In another unruly incident, flight attendants were recorded attempting to restrain and duct tape the mouth of an irate passenger who was thrashing and screaming on board a Fiji Airways flight as she traveled to the country’s main island.
