Patrick Mahomes’ surprising reaction to finding out Travis Kelce struck up a romance with Taylor Swift has been revealed in a new documentary.

In the third episode of ESPN’s docuseries “The Kingdom,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 29, wasn’t the only one surprised by the news of Kelce’s relationship with the 14-time Grammy winner.

Before Swift’s debut appearance in the VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium in September 2023, Kelce’s teammates talked about his then-new romance in the run-up to their game against the Chicago Bears.

Chris Jones, a defensive tackle for the Chiefs, remarked, “You know the locker room was like, ‘Taylor Swift’s here. Taylor Swift’s here. For real? With Travis? Oh my god.’”

“We’re like, ‘Oh my god, Travis pulled Taylor Swift,’” he added.

Mahomes, for his part, was made aware of Kelce’s romance before the rest of the team.

“[Kelce] told me during the week,” the 3-time Super Bowl champ said. “I was one of those like, ‘I got to see it, you know? I got to see it until I believe it.’”

In the game footage shared in the doc, Mahomes was heard chatting to Kelce on the sidelines about the “Cruel Summer” singer, 35.

“That’s the first person I noticed. I didn’t see anybody else,” Mahomes told the tight end.

“You definitely felt the buzz and you could see people in the stadium gravitating toward where she was at there,” he said during the six-part doc. “But at the same time, we had business to handle.”

In a post-game interview, Mahomes addressed Kelce’s new relationship status at the time.

The quarterback told reporters that he had not met the “Fortnight” singer at the time, adding, “If she ends up being with Travis, then I’ll probably get to meet her at some point.”

Meanwhile, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid boasted that he had known Swift for years, before claiming that he had “set them up.”

“By that time, I knew they were going out. I knew her before him,” he shared. “Her dad was a big Eagles fan. She was doing a concert in Philadelphia, so we did the meet and greet thing. She told Travis, ‘You know, I know your coach.’ And he went, ‘Oh no.’”

Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead Stadium in Sept. 2023 sparked a media frenzy — and it appears as though the Chiefs locker room was no different.

“The Swifties are a real thing. Everybody can feel it,” Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie said.

“The fan base is just going insane,” Chiefs safety Justin Reid added. “The sport has just grown tremendously with her being a part of it. The NFL is loving this, I know it. You couldn’t have painted a better picture than to have this happen.”
