JSO investigators said the man was found laying in the road unresponsive around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after JSO investigators said he was hit by a vehicle that ran from the scene early Wednesday morning. 

Investigators said officers responded to the 9400 block of Lem Turner Road in Jacksonville’s Riverview neighborhood around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday to calls of a man lying unresponsive in the road.

When police arrived, they found the man and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the man’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle, but do not have suspect information at this time.

JSO is urging residents to come forward with any information that may lead to an arrest in this case. Those with information should call JSO at (904) 630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
