3 teenagers arrested following weekend carjacking in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A man was arrested in Jefferson County on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives and the SWAT team executed a search warrant in the 6800 block of Joppa Ave. in Birmingham on Thursday.

Joshua Deon Buchanan, 36, faces multiple charges: Drug trafficking with a bond of $500,000, unlawful possession of a control substance with a bond of $10,000, unlawful possession of marijuana 1 with a bond of $10,000, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia with a bone of $1,000 and defaulting party order with a bond of $5,000. His total bond is $526,000.

The JCSO seized 31 grams of marijuana, 3.52 grams of methamphetamine, 3.37 grams of fentanyl, 1.96 grams of fentanyl/ methamphetamine compound, 1.5 grams of Alprazolam pills, 0.5 grams of Oxycodone pills and two grams of Xtampza pills.
