Police said two men got out of their vehicles and began to argue, which then ended in the suspect shooting the victim.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering after he was shot during a suspected road rage incident near a Regency gas station Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 9500 block of Regency Square Boulevard regarding a person shot.

Officers found a man in his late 20s at the scene who had been shot at least once in the foot, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the initial investigation found the victim and suspect were driving vehicles in the area when they became “involved in a road rage incident.”

Both the victim and suspect got out of their vehicles at the intersection, and an argument ensued, police said. That’s when police said the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

All parties involved were detained and are currently cooperating with investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.

JSO detectives were on scene processing evidence and canvassing for witnesses and video.
