Efforts to identify a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in February are ongoing in Philadelphia. In a bid to gather leads, police have released surveillance video, hoping it will help the public identify the gunman involved in the tragic incident.
The footage, made public on Monday, captures a dramatic scene on Upland Street in southwest Philadelphia. It shows a vehicle, registered to the shooting victim, coming to a halt. Two men exit the car and begin a fistfight. During this altercation, a single gunshot was fired, hitting the victim in the stomach, which proved to be fatal.
Back in February, Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department commented on the situation, stating, “The vehicle is registered to the 40-year-old shooting victim, so it is his vehicle. We don’t know the circumstances surrounding his being shot,” according to a report by Fox 29 Philadelphia.
The newly unveiled video shows a man wearing a white or light-colored shirt repeatedly striking another individual, who is wearing a dark shirt or jacket and lying on his back outside the car. Additional footage reveals the man in the darker attire fleeing the scene.

The Philadelphia Police Department remains committed to finding the suspect allegedly responsible for the death of the 40-year-old man, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in solving this troubling case.
Police are searching for the alleged shooter, hoping the video helps identify their suspect, according to the local station.
Officers had responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim in the driver’s seat of his vehicle suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
