DENVER (KDVR) — As storm systems bring below-average temperatures and plenty of rain to Denver weather, the animals at the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance are finding ways to stay warm together.

On Sunday, the zoo shared photos of a monkey, Baya, and a capybara, Rebecca, who were spotted “sharing some seriously adorable cuddles.”

“You’re welcome for the cuteness overload,” the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance said in a post on Facebook.

In the comments on the post, visitors said they had also seen the two hanging out, cuddling and even giving piggyback rides.

In a video posted to YouTube when the zoo introduced its pair of capybaras, Roy and Rebecca, in 2021, the Denver Zoo described the South American animals as giant rodents who love to swim, eat and hang out together.

Recently, Rebecca has found a new buddy to hang out with: Baya the howler monkey.

Baya came to the Denver Zoo with her three kids, Bruno, Banjo and Buster, around the beginning of this summer. They were moved from Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida, as part of a conservation recommendation plan, according to a DZCA Instagram post.

DZCA said their arrival marked the first time that howler monkeys have resided there since 2022.
