Fire crews rushed to the scene of a plane crash in Fullerton Thursday afternoon that forced evacuations and left at least 11 people injured.
The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. on the 2300 block of West Raymer Avenue, directly adjacent to the Fullerton Municipal Airport.

The incident was reported as a structure fire, indicating the plane may have crashed into a building, possibly a warehouse.
Video from Sky5 later confirmed that a commercial building had been hit, with a large hole in the building’s roof and no sign of any visible plane wreckage. Firefighters were seen battling a blaze from inside the warehouse.

The Fullerton Police Department confirmed that the plane went down in the area and that evacuations were underway. As of 2:40 p.m., police said there were an unknown number of “casualties.”
First responders could be seen treating an untold number of people on the ground with several ambulances standing by to transport them to area hospitals if needed.
The Associated Press reported at least 11 injuries related to the crash.
Video from the Citizen App in the immediate moments after the crash showed large plume of black smoke billowing from the crash site, fire trucks speeding toward the source and firefighters assessing the situation from a nearby roof.
Police urged drivers to avoid the area as several roads near the scene of the crash were closed.
In November, two people avoided serious injury when their plane crashed into a tree near the same airport.
