BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Four people, including three teenagers, are facing murder charges after a 15-year-old was shot outside of an apartment complex in January and later died, according to the Brunswick Police Department.

Police said 15-year-old Jerrod Foster was found shot along Tillman Avenue on Jan. 24, and died as a result of his injuries one week later.

The night of the shooting, police arrested and charged Derrick Heidt, 21, with multiple crimes, including attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm near a public highway. His charges were upgraded to murder after Foster’s death.

Investigators then identified and charged three teenagers with murder in connection with the shooting.

One week later, on Feb. 18, police arrested and charged Divine Scott, 15, with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes. Police said Scott was already in custody on an unrelated charge when the warrants were served.

On Thursday, March 27, Travis Coleman, 15, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office and Glynn County Police Department assisted in the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact Detective Melissa Howell at (912) 279-2606 or Silent Witness at (912) 267-5516 to remain anonymous.
