Carlos Aldana, 38, is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the stabbing in which 30-year-old Yannelis De La Caridad Casales Anton was killed.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection to a deadly stabbing that happened at an apartment complex in Jacksonville’s Arlington area Sunday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Carlos Aldana, 38, was taken into custody Sunday night on a second-degree murder charge for an early Sunday morning stabbing that killed 30-year-old Yannelis De La Caridad Casales Anton.

JSO said when patrol officers responded to the apartment complex located off the Arlington Expressway around 8:20 a.m., Aldana was found outside with stab wounds to his left and shin, and then was taken to a local hospital.

A trail of blood led the officers from where Aldana was found to where Anton was found inside of an apartment unit, JSO said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the scene was “gruesome” and Anton died while being treated by paramedics after suffering multiple stab wounds.

“Detectives determined the incident is domestic in nature,” JSO said in a Facebook post. “After speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence, your Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives promptly arrested Aldana.”
