Jesus Arellano, 19, was arrested after leading St. Johns County sheriff’s deputies on a chase near Durbin Pavilion, a shopping mall, on Saturday.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A Texas teen was arrested and found with a missing girl in St. Johns County on Saturday, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) said in a post on its Facebook page Tuesday.

Jesus Arellano, 19, was arrested on several Texas warrants for five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the post states. He was found with a missing 16-year-old girl from Texas.

SJSO said that on Saturday, deputies and the sheriff’s office’s air unit located a car Arellano was driving in the parking lot of Durbin Pavilion, a shopping mall.

The sheriff’s office says Arellano drove away from deputies when they attempted to stop him, but that the deputies “quickly executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver which ended the pursuit.”

Arellano was then taken into custody, while the missing girl, who the sheriff’s office office did not identify, was safely recovered.

“You’re listed as a missing person like I told you before, for running away and stuff like that, so,” a deputy said to the girl in a video on SJSO’s post.

In addition to the charges Arellano faces on the warrants out of Texas, he has been charged by SJSO with fleeing/eluding law enforcement, giving a false name and driving without a driver’s license (having never had one issued), according to the post.
