ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been arrested for “violently” robbing an 83-year-old woman of her lottery winnings on Wednesday in Orange County, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on its Facebook page.

Diego Stalin Tavarez Fleury is in jail for the robbery, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the post, the sheriff’s office says Wednesday morning, deputies responded to the robbery, which happened outside a store on Curry Ford Road, near the intersection of South Goldenrod Road.

The sheriff’s office included surveillance footage at the store that captured the robbery in its post. It shows that the incident happened at 8:17 a.m., as the woman is seen walking out of the store towards her car.

Fifteen seconds later, the man police say is Fleury, is seen in the footage reaching for the unidentified woman’s lottery winnings, after walking several feet from another area in the parking lot.

A short time later, another man whose identity is unknown, is seen walking out of the store and intervenes. Fleury briefly backs away from the woman, but then reengages with her, grabbing hold of her arms as she tries to get in her car.

The footage then shows the man who came out the store, grab and pull Fleury away, causing the woman to fall to the ground. After a brief tussle between the man and Fleury, Fleury is seen running away out of the view of the camera.

Fleury faces charges of robbery, sudden snatching and battery on a person 65 or older, ABC News reported.
