NASSAU COUNTY, Fla — A man is facing attempted murder charges after three people were stabbed at a residence Wednesday night in Fernandina Beach, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to a residence on Duck Lake Drive regarding the stabbing. When deputies arrived, they were notified that three people had been stabbed.
Witnesses told deputies that one of the victims was physically attacked by the suspect, identified as Jeremy Eugene Darity, 41, in their driveway.
A second victim tried to stop the altercation and confronted Darity, prompting a fight which ended with the second victim being stabbed multiple times, the sheriff’s office said. The first and third victims attempted to break up the confrontation and were also stabbed.
A witness drove the second victim to a local hospital with serious injuries before deputies arrived.
Investigators said Darity and the victims knew each other and the incident was isolated.
Darity is being held at the Nassau County Jail and Detention Facility on a more than $600,000 bond.
