DENVER (KDVR) The Boulder Police Department is asking for help from the community in locating and identifying a suspect whose dog reportedly attacked and killed another dog.

In a post on X, Boulder police said the attack happened at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The department said a man was walking his 15-year-old toy poodle behind the Unity Church on the Goose Creek Path near Edgewood Drive and Folsom Street.

Police said the toy poodle, named Amanda, was reportedly attacked by an off-leash dog and suffered serious injuries. Amanda died the following day.

After the attack, police said the suspect grabbed his dog and fled from the scene. Officers didn’t have a detailed description of the suspect but did share that he was a middle-aged white man with longer dirty blonde hair. His dog was described as a large tan “poodle-type dog.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or has information on the suspect is asked to call the Boulder Police Department Animal Protection at 303-441-1874.
