JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were shot in the face during a home invasion Monday morning in the Brentwood area, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident occurred at the Capris Villa apartment complex on 4832 North Main Street.

The sheriff’s office said the shooter, wearing a ski mask, entered an apartment at the Capris Villa complex just before 7 a.m., shot both victims in the head, stole car keys from a table, and fled in the victims’ Buick LaCrosse.

A neighbor reportedly heard the gunshots, found the two victims in the apartment and called 911. First responders transported the men, one in his late 60s and the other in his mid-40s, to the hospital. Both are in critical but stable condition, JSO said.

The sheriff’s office is speaking with potential witnesses and working to identify a suspect. If you have any information that could assist investigators, you’re urged to contact First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
