Man tries to kidnap girl in St. Augustine, police say

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – St. Augustine police are looking for a man they say tried to abduct a child Thursday night near Nesbit and Smith streets.

The girl told investigators a man grabbed her arm while she was walking around 5:30 p.m., and she pulled away from him and ran. They did not say how old the child is.

Police said the man is described as tall, skinny, dressed all in black, wearing a black ski mask and a black backpack.
