Police investigating homicide after victim dies following shooting in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man died from injuries he sustained in a shooting that occurred in August.

The incident took place on Aug. 28. At around 11:30 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 7600 block of 2nd Avenue North. Officers observed an adult male lying in the parking lot at the location, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to UAB Hospital, where he died from his injuries on Oct. 2. The victim has been identified as Quandarus Boston, 21, of Birmingham.

According to the BPD, the preliminary investigation revealed that the victim approached a vehicle, and an unknown suspect fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
