Police Officer and Suspect Injured in Incident in North Jacksonville

A JSO officer and another person are hospitalized following an incident in North Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people, including a Jacksonville Sheriff’s officer, were hospitalized Wednesday morning after an incident between a suspect and the officer in North Jacksonville. 

JSO said in a post on social media that an officer was injured in the incident just after 9 a.m. near Trout River Boulevard and Ribault Avenue.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have taped off an area near Trout River Boulevard and Lem Turner Road. 

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said a suspect was also injured in the incident.

According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, two people were taken to area hospitals, one in critical condition and one in non-critical condition.

First Coast News crews on scene at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville saw a massive police presence at the emergency room.
