Court records reveal that the fiancé of the off-duty Massachusetts police officer who was shot this week was concerned that she might harm their baby and herself. The incident occurred during a confrontation with one of her colleagues as they were attempting to deliver a restraining order to her.

The North Andover firefighter sought an abuse prevention restraining order against new mom Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 28, fearing that the disturbing and suicidal behavior she exhibited while she was pregnant and after she gave birth would escalate against their 4-month-old son, the Boston Globe reported.

Fitzsimmons’ fiancé wrote that “She punched her stomach repeatedly while pregnant, saying she would kill herself and the baby.”

“I fear she will kill the baby at any moment,” he wrote in the order application.

“Kelsey is threatening to take the baby ‘far, far, far away for a long, long time.’ This is how she has spoken about killing herself in the past,” he added. “She punched her stomach repeatedly while pregnant, saying she would kill herself and the baby.”
