The man shot at multiple people and deputies Tuesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said, before deputies returned fire and injured him.
CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — The suspect in a Wednesday afternoon shooting in Camden County fired at several people and deputies before law enforcement returned fire, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
The GBI said the suspect is Rodney Rauls Roundtree, 55, who was injured by officers. Two victims were injured by Roundtree, the agency said, though no officers were injured. GBI is anticipating multiple charges against Roundtree.
The GBI said Roundtree was at a home on Kinlaw Road in Woodbine when he and another man got into an argument resulting in Roundtree shooting the victim. Roundtree left the home, walking down Kinlaw Road, shooting at multiple people working at a substation and hitting vehicles, the agency said.
When a man in a van got close to Roundtree, he then shot at the van multiple times, injuring the driver. Roundtree then went to the intersection of Kinlaw Road and Harriets Bluff Road where he encountered Camden County Sheriff’s Office deputies and started shooting.
GBI said the deputies returned fire, which injured Roundtree.
Roundtree and the two men were taken to local hospitals.
GBI will continue its investigation, the agency said.
