Four individuals, among them two children, were found deceased in a San Francisco home estimated to be worth $2 million, police announced as they probe the “suspicious deaths.”

The grim discovery occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday during a welfare check conducted by officers on the 900 block of Monterey Blvd in the upscale Westwood Highlands neighborhood, according to San Francisco police.

The four victims, believed to be family members who lived in the home, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The family had two girls, one who was around 12 to 13 years old, neighbors told ABC 7 San Francisco.

“There was no noise, nothing, and I think it was the most disturbing part we didn’t hear anything. Nothing. We knew it was a family of four with two girls,” Belinda Hanart shared with the outlet. “It was a very normal family with a normal family routine.”

The devastated next-door neighbor said the family kept to themselves but appeared to enjoy living seven miles southwest of the city center and three blocks north of the City College of San Francisco.

“We heard them more than we saw them and it was just normal family life, like kids in the garden trying to get the dog inside, and having barbecue for summer nights, that’s it, just like us,” she added.

“I don’t have the words right now; I’m in bit of shock. We are in shock, it’s a tragedy and we’re thinking about the family. We are processing the information right now,” Hanart said.

Officials described the deaths as “suspicious” and handed the investigation over to the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail.

Police have not ruled out a suspect in the deaths, but called it an isolated incident with no threat to the public.

“That is a possibility. We’re not confirming any of that at this time, but that is a possibility of this incident,” SFPD Officer Robert Rueca told the outlet.

Rueca described the crime scene as a “rare occurrence” in the neighborhood.

The chief medical examiner’s office is working to determine the causes of death, without providing further details of the scene.

Officials have not released the names or the ages of the victims.

The single-family dwelling last sold for $1.35 million in 2014, and is worth an estimated $2.1 million, according to online listings.

The three-bed, one-bath home was built in 1924 and sits on a 5,362 corner lot.
