The victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after a shooting on the city’s Southside Saturday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said around 9 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the 3200 block of Dorothea Road regarding a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Detectives with JSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to conduct an investigation. A witness was interviewed by detectives. JSO is working with the State Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing and the classification is pending.
