Palm Coast man shoplifts over $1,000 of trading cards, police say

Police say Thomas Singleton shoplifted over 38 boxes of sports trading cards from a local retailer.

BUNNELL, Fla. — A man has been arrested for shoplifting over $1,600 worth of sports trading cards, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say the man, Thomas Singleton, 46, was seen at a Target in Palm Coast on Friday, Sept. 13. Employees told police they saw Singleton take multiple boxes before leaving in his car.

Deputies were able to locate Singleton’s car shortly after, as police said that a felony traffic stop was conducted.

While searching Singleton’s car, deputies say that 38 boxes of NFL and NBA cards were located in his trunk, as well as methamphetamine in the backseat. The cards were returned to Target, where employees told them that a total of $1,649.55 was initially stolen.

Police said Singleton is charged with shoplifting – grand theft ($750 to $5,000) and possession of methamphetamine.
