Investigators said the altercation that led up to the shooting could have been over the victim riding his bike on the road.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A bicyclist is recovering after a shooting in the city’s Lake Forest area Saturday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said around 5 p.m., officers responded to Paul Revere Drive near Edgewood Avenue regarding a person shot.
Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
Police said the initial investigation found the victim was riding a bicycle when he got into a dispute with the suspect, who was driving a vehicle.
The suspect got out of the vehicle and shot the victim once, police said.
The suspect then got back in his vehicle and fled the area. No suspect is in police custody at this time.
