Akron dollar general car theft suspect

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – The Akron Police Department is looking for a man accused of stealing a vehicle from an Ohio store parking lot with children inside.

Investigators said it happened outside the Dollar General in the 500 block of E. Exchange Street on Monday.

According to Akron police, the man allegedly stole the vehicle while two children were inside it sleeping.

Investigators said the vehicle and the children were recovered on Spicer Street, but the suspect reportedly got out and ran on foot.

The suspect, described to have a mohawk haircut and tattoos on his arms and legs, was spotted on multiple security cameras in the city, as seen in the photo below.

Investigators said callers can remain anonymous.
