Putin's daughter says she's 'really sorry' about her father's war

In a dramatic encounter in Paris, Vladimir Putin’s alleged secret daughter was compelled to express her remorse over her father’s aggressive actions in Ukraine. The 22-year-old, identified as Luiza Rozova, was confronted by a Ukrainian journalist who had recently suffered the loss of his brother in a Russian missile strike.

The journalist, Dmytro Sviatnenko, known for his work with TSN, approached Rozova after his brother, Volodymyr, was tragically killed in a missile attack orchestrated by the Kremlin last November. During their interaction, Rozova acknowledged the journalist’s bravery in approaching her but quickly retreated into the bustling streets of Paris, where she currently resides.

Sviatnenko urged Rozova to use her connection to Putin to appeal for an end to the ongoing violence. Despite expressing empathy, Rozova, whose real name is Elizaveta Krivonogikh, made her apologies and disappeared from the scene.

Elizaveta is reportedly the result of an extramarital affair between Putin and Svetlana Krivonogikh, a former cleaner who has since become a millionaire and owns a striptease club. Svetlana, now 50, has built a successful career in banking.

Luiza – real name Elizaveta Krivonogikh – was born during an extra-marital affair Putin had with cleaner-turned-multi-millionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, now a 50-year-old banker and striptease club owner.

In an uncomfortable interview, Sviatnenko said: ‘Three weeks ago, your father killed my brother.’

He asks how she can live in Europe, portrayed as ‘hateful’ and ‘cursed’ by Putin and his poisonous propaganda machine.

The reporter demanded: ‘Say something! Do you support his policies?’

Wearing a mask partially shielding her face, Luiza replied initially: ‘I did not give you permission to film me.’

The reporter told her: ‘Well, you know, Kyiv is currently without power, and there’s an air raid alert right now.

‘We didn’t give our permission for this either. How do you feel about your father’s policies?

‘Do you support him? Do you support him?’

She replied: ‘What does that have to do with me?’

He reminded her: ‘Well, he’s your father. At the very least, you could call him right now and say, ‘Dad, stop shelling Kyiv’.’

She replied: ‘Well, of course.’

He urged her: ‘Well, try it.’

She repeated: ‘Well, of course.’

Her tone suggested that it would be pointless for her to try such an approach to the ruthless dictator.

Then Luiza was invited to go to Kyiv or war hotspot Pokrovsk where her presence might stop Putin from raining down drones and missiles.

‘You could come to Kyiv and perform better than any Patriot air defence system, for example, and go to Pokrovsk now,’ said Sviatnenko.

‘And it’s quite possible that this whole story, this mess, will end.’

Luiza replied: ‘Well, can you imagine? How am I going to go there now?’

Sviatnenko told her: ‘I understand perfectly. I don’t see any obstacles.

‘I’ll even buy you a plane ticket with my own money. Only it won’t fly to Kyiv [because the airport has been closed for almost four years].’

Putin’s daughter replied: ‘Unfortunately, I can’t help you. I’m very sorry.’

She was then asked: ‘Are there any discussions going on in your family? I don’t know, at the dinner table, for example?’

Finally, Luiza expresses regret over her father’s genocidal attacks on innocent people in Ukraine.

‘I’m really sorry, but I can’t answer your question,’ she said. ‘I think I’ve already talked to you enough.

‘I’m really sorry that this is happening. Unfortunately, I’m not responsible for this situation.

‘I’m glad you had the courage to come up to me and talk, but unfortunately….’

He urged her again: ‘Call your father and tell him to stop shelling Ukraine, at least for today.’

She ended the exchange with: ‘Have a good evening.’ He added: ‘At least for one day….’

He also challenged her choice of residence: ‘Why do you live in Paris and not, for example, in Moscow?’

She replied: ‘I’m not from Moscow.’

He clarified: ‘In St Petersburg.’

She answered: ‘Well, when I was a student, I decided to move to Paris.’

He asked how Putin reacted to her move to the West, considering his hostility to NATO countries.

‘And you are the daughter of a Russian dictator.’

Luiza – who carried a bag from Japanese brand Uniqlo – lives in Paris and works for two art galleries where she was spotted by the Ukrainian TV crew.

She uses the family name Rudnova – the surname of a close Putin friend – in France.

There is evidence she has expressed fears previously about the ‘consequences’ for her of making an overt public stand against Putin.

While it is known that Luiza is his daughter, and that her mother became wealthy – worth around £75 million – after her relationship with the Russian ruler, it is unclear how much if any contact she had with Putin as she grew up.

Her close resemblance to a younger Putin is clear from her pictures.

He has not acknowledged her – or denied he is her father, but the mainstream Russian media is banned from mentioning her.

After Luiza’s existence was revealed in 2020, she was initially prominent on social media in Russia, and posted images of a lavish lifestyle including private jets, luxury fashion, and exclusive parties.

She had her own fashion brand and worked as a DJ.

But shortly before the war, she appeared to be gagged on social media and vanished.

There were reports that ahead of the war in Ukraine, Putin sought to block her public profile.

‘And as far as I know, something happened in October 2021 because she deleted her Instagram account and she is no [longer] public,’ said Andrei Zakharov, the journalist who first revealed her existence.

‘It looks like somebody told her: ‘Stop it’.’

TV reporter Sviatnenko said earlier of his brother’s death that he was killed after the Russians became aware of the gathering of troops for a medal ceremony far from the frontline.

‘He was killed by the Russians,’ he said.

‘But not on the battlefield. In the deep rear.

‘He and his comrades were gathered on the parade ground to be awarded.

‘They gathered the best. The best pilots and infantrymen of the brigade.

‘By order. In open terrain. Ballistics flew in. The history of negligence (or not negligence) repeated itself.’

The confrontation comes as the war enters an uncertain winter phase, with Russia stepping up missile and drone strikes across Ukraine in recent days.

Cities including Kharkiv, Odesa and areas of the Donetsk region have suffered some of the heaviest bombardments in weeks, leaving civilians dead and causing further damage to energy infrastructure.

Both Moscow and Kyiv have spoken publicly about the possibility of future talks, yet Western officials say there is no sign either side is preparing for genuine negotiations

Ukraine has repeatedly ruled out any agreement that freezes the conflict along current front lines, while the Kremlin continues to signal demands Kyiv has dismissed as impossible.

Despite occasional references to dialogue, the military picture remains largely unchanged.

Russia is reinforcing defensive positions and preparing for additional winter operations, while increasing its reliance on Iranian drones and North Korean artillery supplies.

Ukrainian commanders warn that further strikes on major cities are likely as Moscow attempts to wear down civilian resilience during the colder months.

Discussion about the long-term direction of the conflict has grown louder in Europe and the US, but diplomats caution that any meaningful peace process remains a distant prospect as long as Russian attacks continue on a near-daily basis.

The Paris encounter also renews scrutiny of Vladimir Putin’s closely guarded private life, which remains effectively off-limits inside Russia.

The Kremlin leader officially acknowledges only two adult daughters from his first marriage, yet he has long been linked to former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, who Western intelligence officials believe has been his partner for years.

Reports have suggested she has had children allegedly fathered by Putin, though neither she nor the Kremlin has confirmed such claims.

Putin has similarly been tied to other women who later emerged with significant wealth or security protection, fuelling further speculation about relationships and possible unacknowledged children.

Russian media are barred from reporting on these matters and journalists who attempt to investigate face pressure, leaving much of his private world obscured and unconfirmed.
