Rachel Zegler experienced an unfortunate wardrobe slip at New York Magazine’s Culturati 50 party on Thursday night, donning a daring sheer purple dress.
The 24-year-old, renowned for her role in “Snow White,” chose an eye-catching, translucent one-shoulder plum gown that turned heads for its boldness.
The dress featured a neckline wrap, a ruched waist, and a dramatic thigh-high slit, all contributing to its striking design.
Zegler completed her look with matching purple heels and white undergarments for modesty.
However, when eagle-eyed fans noticed her nipple covers were visible beneath the outfit, many took to social media platform X to voice their disapproval, calling the choice a fashion faux pas.
‘If you’re going to do sheer you can’t wear pasties. You have to commit,’ one fan urged.
‘[If you’re gonna wear a dress like this either go all the way or wear diamond pastes/undies. This just looks cheap and gross,’ agreed another.
‘I actually don’t think this dress was supposed to be see through,’ theorized someone else.

When fans noticed that Zegler’s nipple pasties could be seen under the garment, many felt it was a sartorial crime and took to X to slam the look
‘The transparent dress was overkill,’ read a fourth tweet, while a fifth said, ‘Stylist deserves jail time.’
‘I don’t know the first thing about fashion but I feel that the toothpaste white boyshorts and giant Genoa salami sized nipple covers under the sheer dress are all sort of clashing,’ a different user penned.
‘Fire the stylist,’ urged someone else. ‘This should look great but they couldn’t even match her pasties or underwear to her skin tone properly.’
It comes nine months after Disney released its controversial new version of Snow White starring Zegler.
At the time of its release in March, it was branded as one of the company’s worst-performing movies in recent years.
After being mired in controversy due to Zegler’s eyebrow-raising comments and facing immense backlash over the ‘woke’ changes it made, the movie ended up earning dismal numbers at the box office and was widely panned by critics.
Despite its lackluster performance, Zegler’s costar Gal Gadot recently revealed she wants to return to Disney for a Snow White sequel.
‘I would love to do that. Yes. Tell [Disney CEO] Bob [Iger]. Bob, I’ll do that,’ she said while speaking to Us Weekly at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Snow Ball Gala last month.

Amid the movie’s press tour it was speculated that there was a behind-the-scenes clash between Gadot and Zegler.
It was believed to be over their opposing views on the years-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict; Gadot is notably from Israel.
There were also disputes as the studio gave the film, based on the 1937 original cartoon, a politically correct revamp.
In 2022, Rachel supported the contemporary take on the story, telling Vanity Fair, ‘It needed that.’
Peter Dinklage later weighed in, slamming Disney for remaking what he called a ‘f**king backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together’.
Disney ultimately reimagined the Seven Dwarfs as a diverse group of ‘magical creatures’ of all heights, gender and race.
