Rebecca Haro's 'stupid' jailhouse interview will 'bite' her: Former DA

() Matt Murphy, a former Orange County, California, senior deputy district attorney, believes Rebecca Haro, the mother of missing baby Emmanuel Haro, will come to regret agreeing to a jailhouse interview.

Rebecca and her husband Jake Haro were both charged with murder Tuesday after the disappearance of their 7-month-old son. Authorities now believe Emmanuel Haro is dead. He was reported missing Aug. 14.

Murphy also suggested Rebecca will turn on her husband, with whom she has so far upheld a united front, even as he assists detectives in the search for Emmanuel.

The interview is “going to come back and haunt her, because at some point, she’s going to blame him. I guarantee it, I absolutely guarantee it,” Murphy told “Banfield” on Tuesday.

“There’s a lawyer who is probably today getting assigned to that case that is pulling their hair out because of that stupid jailhouse interview that absolutely is going to come around and bite her.

“Some poor lawyer’s going to have to try to dig her out of that mess, and I don’t think they’re going to succeed.”

Rebecca Haro spoke to the local media from inside jail, standing by her husband and saying she wanted to be out searching for baby Emmanuel, too. Despite authorities not yet finding the body of Emmanuel, Murphy said the parents could still be found guilty.

“One of the biggest misconceptions out there is that you cannot prosecute a case without a body,” Murphy said.

“Juries never want to give the benefit to the bad guy, to the killer, of successfully getting rid of human remains, especially when you’re talking about a little boy like this,” he added.
