The recall follows a CPSC warning earlier this month about nine different faucet models from Chinese manufacturers that refused to issue voluntary recalls.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued recalls for three kitchen faucet models sold on Amazon after testing revealed they contain lead that can leach into water at levels particularly harmful to infants and young children.

The recall involves more than 100,000 total units of BASDEHEN, KICIMPRO and VFAUOSIT kitchen faucets manufactured by Chinese companies and sold on Amazon.com between January 2024 and May 2025 for $30 to $40.

The recall follows a May 16 CPSC warning about nine different faucet models from Chinese manufacturers that refused to issue voluntary recalls.

Lead ingestion can cause harmful neurological effects on infants and young children, including attention-related behavioral problems, decreased cognitive performance and lower IQ, according to the CPSC. The recalled faucets were also found to leach other contaminants.

Recalled products

  • VFAUOSIT kitchen faucet, model number 06BNV, a brushed nickel single-handle kitchen faucet with pull-down detachable spray. It was sold by Amazon seller Whisper08 from January 2024 through May 2025.
  • BASDEHEN kitchen faucet, model number CFDTTH-000-YGH, a matte black single-handle kitchen faucet with 360-degree swivel and spring spout design. It was sold by Amazon seller Chenfeng Store from May 2024 through May 2025.
  • KICIMPRO kitchen faucet, model number KM800-01-06BN, a brushed nickel single-handle kitchen faucet with pull-down detachable spray. It was sold by Amazon seller Kicimpro from January 2024 through May 2025.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled faucets and contact the respective sellers about disposal and refunds. Consumers must provide photographs of disposal to receive refunds.

Until replacement faucets are installed, consumers should run water for 15 seconds before consumption. Amazon is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Previous CPSC warning

The May 16 CPSC warning covered nine faucet models from Chinese manufacturers who refused to issue voluntary recalls. The models identified in that warning include:

  • VESLA HOME Kitchen Faucet, sold by VESLA HOME
  • KZH Bathroom Faucet, sold by Yajie Sanitaryware
  • CEINOL Bathroom Faucet, sold by CEINOL-USA
  • Rainsworth Bathroom Faucet, sold by Le Chang SANITARY
  • NICTIE Bathroom Faucet, sold by NICTIE
  • HGN Kitchen Faucet, sold by HGN Sanitaryware
  • Qomolangma Kitchen Faucet, sold by Qomolangma Sanitary Ware
  • Kicimpro Kitchen Faucet, sold by Kicimpro
  • VFAUOSIT Kitchen Faucet, sold by Whisper08

Those faucets were sold on Amazon.com for between $30 and $70. The CPSC urged consumers to stop using those products immediately and dispose of them, noting that many lack branding, safety certifications or source-identifying labels.
