Remi Bader made a defiant act in a new Instagram video shared on Sunday – not long after sparking fan fury with her secret weight loss bombshell.

The media influencer, aged 30, who previously admitted to having weight-loss surgery in 2023, posted a video of herself trying on a bikini. In the video, she proudly displayed the scars and stretch marks on her stomach.

Recently, the model shared on Khloe Kardashian’s podcast that she had undergone bariatric surgery almost two years before. However, she did not inform her followers about the procedure at that time.

Fans soon called out the star for ‘lying’ while others claimed she ‘blocked’ people who had questioned how she obtained her slimmer figure.

Bader seemingly brushed aside the backlash as she sported a new swimsuit while packing for an upcoming trip to Miami.

She then told her 816K followers that she has been ‘completely in denial what my size is now for a long time.’

Remi mentioned, “So I need to get rid of a lot of things in my closet and also get new things because I don’t even have underwear that fits me normally at this point.”

‘I’m kind of starting this journey now. I don’t know if it’s that I waited until I opened up to the world about it until I realized what was going on,’ the model continued, referencing to her weight loss.

She then addressed ‘chatter’ on social media that she may have gotten skin removal surgery – which she denied.

‘I did not,’ Bader said. ‘I kind of wanted to see where and want to see where my body ends up I guess before I do anything.’

Remi then stepped closer to the camera to show her fans stretch marks on her stomach as well as incision scars after she underwent a single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy.

‘People are saying, “Oh she has no loose skin, how is that possible?” One, I’m young. Two, I do have loose skin. I feel like a lot of my weight – when I gained the weight went to my stomach so that’s really where I feel the most loose skin.’

The media personality continued while gently grabbing her midriff, ‘It was all just going to my stomach.’

Towards the end of the clip, Bader explained, ‘I don’t want to make this page a – like I said – I don’t want to be a weight loss advocate. I don’t want to be a surgery advocate.

‘But like I’ll mix in with my normal content I guess just like, things that you guys want to know or I’ve screenshot things and seen questions that people have.’

Bader added, ‘But this is my body. And that is that. No skin removal surgery here. But there is nothing against it.’

Throughout the course of the video, Remi could be seen wearing a dark blue bikini top along with matching bottoms that had floral embellishments.

Her brunette locks were tossed up into a messy bun as she briefly opened up to her Instagram followers.

It comes after the influencer joined Khloe Kardashian on her podcast titled Khloe In Wonder Land last week – and admitted to undergoing a weight-loss surgery in 2023.

Bader revealed she lost ‘more than 140 pounds in less than a year’ after getting ‘80% of [her] stomach removed’ after getting a single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy, which is a type of bariatric surgery.

The confession comes after months of speculation that Bader had either gone under the knife or went back on weight-loss drugs to achieve her current slim body.

Bader seemingly steered clear of addressing the rumors until her sit-down interview with Kardashian where she detailed her ‘health journey’ for the first time.

Fans accused her of ‘lying’ and perpetuating ‘unrealistic beauty standards’ by seemingly hiding her weight-loss surgery for two years.

Many also alleged that Bader frequently ‘blocked’ fans who publicly questioned her on the matter before her weight loss reveal.

‘She blocked SO many people who asked this in her comments for months,’ one Bader follower claimed on X (formerly Twitter).

Another chimed in: ‘[Bader] has consistently been saying she didn’t get surgery to assist with her weight loss.’

Some felt that Bader had tried to make it appear as though her weight-loss was ‘all natural’ by posting frequent workout videos and other diet-related content to her Instagram and TikTok.

The discussion over Bader’s surgery admission really heated up on Reddit, with several users slamming her for ‘gaslighting’ her impressionable female audience.

While many demanded Bader be ‘canceled,’ others felt the star was entitled to her medical privacy as they passionately declared she ‘owes nothing’ to her millions of followers.

During her chat with Kardashian, Bader said she ‘knew’ that her losing ‘a very significant amount of weight’ was going to be ‘something [she] should talk about’ in the future.

But she said she wanted to do it on her own terms and not how people ‘online’ wanted her to address it. She added that seeing so much negativity around her weight-loss made her ‘want to tell my story less.’

Bader only feels ‘guilty’ not being upfront with those who’ve messaged her about being ‘desperate’ to lose weight.

While she acknowledges that keeping her journey private led to her ‘losing that connection’ with her fans, it was something she ‘needed to do for [herself].’

‘I needed to give myself the whole past year to heal and figure out what even just happened [to her body] because I feel like people just want an answer from me and that’s not what I’m giving,’ she explained to Kardashian.

She said that the high influx of comments from fans accusing her of ‘lying’ had been ‘eating [her] alive’ from sometime and that she was finally ready to share her truth.

Her ‘health journey’ kicked off in September 2023 after her ‘morbid obesity’ started causing her ‘pain’ and began threatening her fertility.

‘A doctor told me I was becoming infertile at 28,’ she revealed. After her failed Ozempic and Mounjaro attempts, Bader began to consider bariatric surgery.

She was linked to a surgeon who, due to her health issues, suggested she get a single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S), which a newer and ‘very effective’ form of bariatric surgery.

Bader decided to undergo the ‘new’ procedure but the recovery process ended up being ‘the worst thing of [her] life.’

‘I had a rare situation. I just reacted differently [to the procedure]. That’s the point. This is my journey [and] everyone reacts differently to everything,’ she explained.

While her surgeon had told her she’d be out of hospital ‘in a day,’ she ended up being unable to leave because she was ‘so sick.’

She said she experienced ‘hell’ for six weeks as she battled vomiting and pain, which her surgeon told her ‘wasn’t normal.’

Bader said she feared she’d ‘ruined [her] body’ by undergoing the elective procedure.

Bader further elaborated on her dramatic weight-loss transformation in a new interview with Self last month in March.

She told the magazine that dropping 140 pounds so quickly was ‘confusing’ for her. ‘I never thought it would be this quick. I never wanted to be this size,’ she confessed of her new, slimmer figure.

Bader also revealed that she spiraled into a ‘deep depression’ during her painful recovery from bariatric surgery.

Before deciding to go the surgery route, Bader previously disclosed that her doctor put her on Ozempic in 2022 but the Semoglutide only made her binge-eating disorder worse.

Bader told the Not Skinny Not Fat podcast that when she quit the type 2 diabetes drug three months later: ‘I gained double the weight back.’

She was so overwhelmed with her binge eating that she sought ‘serious outpatient treatment at a facility.’

Bader rose to fame during the COVID-19 pandemic as a plus-side influencer and model who made videos about ‘body positivity.’

She’s partnered with major brands like Victoria’s Secret, lululemon and Swarovski. Bader recently got to attend the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles back in February.
