Beloved social media personality Carolina Reyes, known to her followers as “Carol the Warrior,” has passed away at the age of 23 after battling cancer.
Carolina, who garnered a significant following on Instagram with 210,000 fans, took her final breaths in a clinic located in her hometown yesterday.
Her admirers remember her as an extraordinary individual who faced life’s challenges with unwavering determination.
Her family issued a heartfelt message on her Instagram account, requesting ‘respect and empathy’ during this painful period.
They also expressed gratitude to her supporters for standing by Carolina since her cancer diagnosis.
‘Thank you for loving her, supporting her, showing her so much affection, and always welcoming her with open arms,’ her family said.
In October last year, Carolina, originally from the Colombian Pacific coast, revealed that she was suffering from health issues that prompted her to go to the hospital in Cali, Colombia.
After several tests, doctors diagnosed fluid in her lungs and drained several fluid-filled sacs.

She said at the time: ‘You can’t imagine how devastated my uncle was to see me in such pain.
‘They had to bathe me, dress me, everything.’
She also said that some family members believed her illness was the result of a black magic ritual despite medical diagnoses pointing to a complex clinical condition.
The following month, she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Carolina shared stories related to her chemotherapy treatments on social media, quickly racking up a large following and earning her the nickname ‘Carol the Warrior’.
She had recently returned from a trip to Brazil just before her passing, sharing pictures online of her vacation.
Her most recent post before her passing showed her in Rio de Janeiro, captioned: ‘Everything is fine.’Â
Her family said they will provide details of her funeral in the coming days.
