() Police were called to Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s home 11 times over a 14-month period, according to TMZ reporting.
Hernandez’s decomposed body was found in the trunk of R&B singer D4vd last month. Her remains were discovered inside the Tesla registered to the singer at a Hollywood tow yard Sept. 8.
Riverside County, California, sheriff’s deputies responded to Hernandez’s house between February 2024 and April 2025. Police acknowledged deputies visited her home twice during March 19, 2024, which was the same day Hernandez was caught on surveillance video by a liquor store running down a street at 7 a.m.
Authorities also went to the liquor store on the same day, as well, and so did Hernandez’s sister when looking for her.
A neighbor of Celeste’s family told “Banfield” on Wednesday that the family lived in public housing from 2019 to 2020. The neighbor added she occasionally heard Hernandez’s parents arguing often about the custody of their children, though there was no indication that they had divorced.
The woman called Celeste “a sweet little girl whose mom would keep her close at all times.”
Celeste Rivas Hernandez would take off, come back: Neighbor
Another neighbor of Hernandez stated the 15-year-old would take off from her home and return on several occasions.
“The first time I saw her, she was walking down the street early in the morning,” she recalled. “It was during the colder months, I remember. It was just one second, I was driving down the street, and I saw her big, beautiful curls. And I’m, like, ‘Oh, that little girl’s so pretty.’ And then I just went on my way. But that was probably … six months before she went missing the first time in February of 2024.”
Hernandez had run away from home multiple times in 2024 before she was reported missing in April of that year. Celeste’s mother also reportedly said that before the teen went missing, she was dating someone named David.
The neighbor also said she heard Hernandez through the apartments as her backyard peers into Celeste’s family backyard.
“I didn’t know she was the missing child from next door,” she said. “I have lived here since February of 2023, so almost three years. I’ve never met the family. I don’t know their names. I don’t know how many people live there.”
confirmed that Hernandez’s parents are legal citizens of the United States. Records acquired by private investigator Steve Fisher show that both of them received Social Security numbers around 2001.
Hernandez caught in shouting match months after disappearance, video shows
A video was recorded at the home of Celeste’s parents, precisely a year before her body was found in the trunk of a car belonging to the D4vd.
Neighbors who provided the video to the outlet say that it shows her arguing with people who ostensibly had pulled a prank on her. Celeste was seen yelling and swearing at individuals she believed had played a prank on her parents’ home.
“They’d seen the posters up. They said that her family members did walk around town that summer, showing everyone the poster, saying, ‘Have you seen Celeste?’ So it was in their heads,” TMZ’s Charles Latibeaudiere added.
By the dates themselves, the video seems to prove that Celeste visited her family at least once after she ran away for the last time.
