Reporter slams ESPN cameraman for shoving her in LSU postgame chaos

Media coverage can sometimes turn into physical sports-like moments themselves.

After LSU’s significant 17-10 victory over No. 4 Clemson on the road to kick off the season, Chessa Bouche from Louisiana First News shared an unfortunate encounter on X regarding an ESPN cameraman during the hectic postgame media scramble.

“To the ESPN camera guy who pushed me after the game because I was in your way, you could have just spoken up instead of physically handling a woman who’s much smaller than you,” she expressed. “In this industry, there’s a concept called mutual respect. I’m solo, handling several tasks at once, while you have teams for every game. A simple ‘please move’ would suffice. Do better, man!”

Responding to a user on X who commented that there should be no differentiation between genders in postgame scenarios as everyone is simply performing their roles, Bouche clarified that the alleged push from the ESPN cameraman did not occur during the usual postgame hustle.

“It was simply Brian Kelly walking off the field,” she clarified.

The victory at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina marked the first 1-0 start for Kelly since taking over the LSU program in 2022, following 12 years with Notre Dame.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier sealed the win for the Tigers after completing 28-of-38 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown.

An eight-yard TD pass to Trey’Dez Green with 12:18 left in the final quarter gave LSU its first lead of the game. LSU’s defense shut down Clemson in the second half, limiting them to to 151 yards.

Clemson was also held in check on the ground, rushing for just 31 yards on 20 attempts in the season-opening loss.

The victory gave LSU a 4-1 series lead against Clemson, including the 42-25 win in the 2020 College Football Playoff national championship game.
