Republican lawmakers are pushing to memorialize Charlie Kirk on US coins following his assassination earlier this month.

Two Republican legislators plan to introduce a proposal to the US Treasury on Friday, suggesting the minting of 400,000 silver dollar coins featuring Kirk’s image.

Texas Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger and Arizona Representative Abe Hamadeh informed Fox News about the ‘Charlie Kirk Commemorative Coin Act.’ Hamadeh described Kirk as an ‘American treasure.’

‘He tirelessly sacrificed his time, energy, and money to save this nation for future generations,’ Hamadeh declared.

‘In the end, he made the ultimate sacrifice at the hands of an extreme leftist. His life deserves to be honored, and this coin will ensure his extraordinary story is shared with future generations.’

Pfluger told the outlet, if the bill is passed, Kirk would be the youngest American stamped onto US currency.

He described it as ‘a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic.’

‘Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation’s greatest leaders and influential figures,’ Pfluger added.

The bill described Kirk as an ‘American political and cultural activist who inspired a generation of young Americans to value and practice the core freedoms enshrined under the First Amendment.’

Under the proposition, Kirk’s face would appear on one side of the US silver dollar and feature the words ‘well done, good and faithful servant’ on the other.

It would also be inscribed with the podcaster’s full name, Charles James Kirk, and the year 2026.

The coin’s final design would be determined by the Treasury Secretary, a position currently held by Scott Bessent, as well as President Donald Trump and the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.

Kirk would join several influential historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, who appears notably on the $100 bill, Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, former US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall and Susan B. Anthony.

The bill joins many other efforts to memorialize the Right-wing influencer who was assassinated on September 10 in front of crowds of students and supporters at Utah Valley University while on his ‘American Comeback’ tour.

Florida Sen. Rick Scott introduced a resolution that would honor Kirk on October 14, 2025 – which would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday.

The day would be a National Day of Remembrance for Kirk, who’s death was described by Scott as a ‘devastating loss.’

‘Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father, and friend. His life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country. He believed in God, the American dream, the value of family, and the principles of our great nation,’ the Florida senator added.

The resolution was unanimously passed as a simple resolution, and not law.

Scott’s order ‘encourages educational institutions, civic organizations, and citizens across the United States to observe [Oct. 14] with appropriate programs, activities, prayers, and ceremonies that promote civic, engagement and the principles of faith, liberty, and democracy that Charlie Kirk championed,’ The Hill reported.

In Florida, heated debates stirred over roadside markers that were proposed to honor Kirk.

The Lake County Commission in Tavares unanimously backed the proposal from Commissioner Anthony Sabatini, but the proposal incurred a two-and-a-half hour debate.

Most speakers were against the proposal and said such honoring should be reserved for people such as fallen LCSO Deputy Bradley Link.

Sabatini, however, declared the suggestion as ‘disgusting’ and laid into the man who made the comment.

‘How dare you use that deputy’s name for your petty, bulls*** political argument, how dare you! How dare you,’ Sabatini fumed. ‘Disgusting. You’re a disgusting person!’

One resident, Mae Hazelton, condemned Sabatini for the outburst.

‘To have a sitting county commissioner, Anthony Sabatini, talk to the audience that way, talk to the voters that way, was absolutely appalling,’ Hazelton said.

‘The county commissioners let us down. We were coming to give our voices so they could hear us, and they immediately attacked us, saying we were calling them racists and bigots. We never spoke that to them.’

Another Republican representative, Anna Paulina Luna, called on House Speaker Mike Johnson to erect a statue of Kirk in the US Capitol.

Luna, a previous employer of Turning Point USA, wrote to Johnson and said: ‘This is not a symbolic gesture, but a permanent testament to his life’s work, his courage, and his sacrifice.’

‘It will stand as a reminder that political disagreement must never be answered with violence, and that the fight for truth must carry on,’ Luna declared.

She wrote online that the ‘hateful rhetoric from the Left’ created a ‘toxic environment where one side finds it acceptable to stoke fear and violence to silence civil dissent.’
