A notorious figure from Southern California, convicted for his involvement in a 2002 contract killing that led to the death of a 44-year-old man from Orange County, has passed away in prison at the age of 50, as reported by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Armando Macias, who lived in Lancaster, was just 35 when he became part of the plan to abduct and murder David Montemayor, according to an announcement from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
