NASCAR has revealed the course layout for an eagerly anticipated race weekend set against the breathtaking backdrop of San Diego’s waterfront, promising a blend of high-octane thrills and patriotic spirit. The event will unfold at Naval Base Coronado, showcasing a meticulously designed 3.4-mile street circuit.

Tuesday’s digital unveiling highlighted the challenging 16-turn course, featuring several key sections that are sure to test even the most seasoned drivers. Among these is a sharp left-hand turn dubbed “Carrier Corner,” strategically located between the docking sites of two aircraft carriers. Turn 8, known as the “Coronado Chicane,” presents a series of intricate turns designed to push racers to their limits as they navigate the base’s interior. Meanwhile, Turn 14, or “Runway Road,” poses its own challenge near the northern end of Runway 18/36 at Halsey Field.

In a nod to the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy, the street course will be draped in patriotic imagery. NASCAR also announced that the start/finish line would honor Cmdr. Theodore Ellyson, recognizing his pioneering aviation training at North Island, often celebrated as the “Birthplace of Naval Aviation.”

The street course will also have a star-spangled backdrop in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy, NASCAR stated.

Additionally, the start/finish line will be named in honor of Cmdr. Theodore Ellyson, whose training at North Island led to its eventual recognition as the “Birthplace of Naval Aviation.”

NASCAR San Diego Weekend presented by Anduril will kick off on Friday, June 19, 2026. Friday access will only be open to members of the U.S. Navy at Naval Base Coronado and a limited amount of Coronado residents.

Ticketholders from the general public are welcome to see the race June 20-21. Tickets can be purchased at NASCARSanDiego.com. The pre-sale window begins Oct. 23 and tickets will go on sale for the public on Nov. 7.
