This week on The Real Housewives of New York City, the drama takes a break as Jenna Lyons tries to unite the ladies with a comical synchronized swimming routine.
On what seems like a never-ending cast trip to Puerto Rico, Brynn Whitfield has managed to butt heads with almost everyone. She confronted Jessel Taank after Erin Lichy revealed Taank was annoyed that Whitfield cut her in line at a photoshoot. She got into it at one point with Rebecca Minkoff, but that ended in a productive conversation. And she was even the center of a tense sprinter van scene when Ubah Hassan seemingly accused her of sleeping with someone to get on the show.
But in this week’s episode, all is forgotten as Lyons ropes everyone into a synchronized swimming routine.
“I think I fell in love with synchronized swimming when I was in, like, sixth grade,” Lyons says in an exclusive clip obtained by DECIDER. “Honestly, if there was a gay synchronized swimming team, I would be the first person to sign up.”
The best part, however, is that Lyons still can’t seem to get Minkoff’s name right — even though they are both powerhouses in the fashion world.
“Brynn and Jessel will start to touch our hands and then Rachel — ” she began, before Minkoff yelled, “I’m not fucking Rachel! You are an Alzheimer’s patient!”
This isn’t the first time Lyons has made the slip-up. In a flashback clip, she tells the group that she’s called Minkoff “Rachel” three times already.
“My name is Rebecca. R-E-B-E-C-C-A. Not Rachel,” Minkoff says in her confessional, while Whitfield adds, “Also known as Boring Becky.”
Lyons, luckily, isn’t the only one infatuated with synchronized swimming.
“I love synchronized swimming so I am so excited for this,” Racquel Chevremont says. “As a child, I would make up these swim routines and force my poor mother to watch because I had no siblings. I would watch those old movies with the synchronized swimmers and they were gorgeous.”
The clip ends with the group’s attempt at their own routine.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
