A 48-year-old educator faces serious charges in Clay County, accused of distributing inappropriate content to a minor. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has detained the Ridgeview High School teacher on six counts related to transmitting harmful materials to a student.
In Clay County, Florida, authorities have taken action against Christopher Suarez after allegations surfaced that he sent unsuitable photos and messages to a pupil. The situation was brought to light after the student reported the incidents to school officials.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the complaint was filed on May 19, 2026. Following this, the Clay County School District took immediate steps, placing Suarez on administrative leave. He was prohibited from accessing any district properties, and his access to work-related technology was revoked.
Investigators revealed that Suarez initiated contact with the student through social media earlier in 2026. In the days leading up to the report, he allegedly sent explicit images and messages, prompting the student to come forward.
Deputies said they found Suarez began communicating with the student on social media earlier in 2026, and in the days leading to the report, he sent sexually explicit images and messages to the student.
Suarez was arrested Friday on six counts of transmission of harmful materials to a minor, and one count of using a two-way communication device to commit a felony. He is being held in the Clay County Jail on a $525,021 bond.

Upon receiving a report on May 19, 2026, regarding allegations of inappropriate social media communication between a teacher and a student, the district took immediate action. Mr. Suarez was instantly removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave. He was prohibited from entering any school board property, and his work technology accounts were immediately deactivated. To protect the integrity of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s active investigation, public notification and statements were deferred until an arrest was finalized.
The actions of this individual do not represent the values of Ridgeview High School, nor do they reflect the high standards and integrity of the dedicated educators who serve our students every day.

Ridgeview High School principal Becky Murphy reached out to parents with the same message. According to a district spokesperson, Suarez remains on administrative leave, and any formal separation or further disciplinary actions will proceed in accordance with district policy and due process.
