Rooftop Blaze in NYC Interrupts St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

A fire erupted in Manhattan on Tuesday, coinciding with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) reported receiving a call about a blaze on a rooftop located at 6 East 43rd Street, according to information obtained by Fox News.

In a post shared on X, FDNY released footage capturing smoke rising dramatically into the sky. The post stated, “The FDNY is responding to a fire on East 43rd Street in Manhattan.”

Additionally, FDNY amplified a message from the city’s official emergency notification system on X, advising, “Due to FDNY activity, expect traffic delays, road closures, disruptions to mass transit, and the presence of emergency personnel near East 43rd Street and Madison Avenue, Manhattan. Please consider using alternative routes.”

Kevin Gordon, head of macro research and strategy, Schwab Center for Financial Research, posted a photo of thick smoke on X, and commented, “Quite the scene this morning on 43rd street in midtown Manhattan … really hope everyone is alright.”
