Two inebriated companions were removed from a plane by authorities after becoming ‘unmanageable’ from consuming a duty-free bottle of vodka while waiting for departure.

The rowdy pair created chaos on a flight at Leeds Bradford Airport on Thursday, which was set to arrive at Chania International Airport in Greece.

Footage shows a burly policeman walk down the aisle to confront the pair.

A distressed female cabin crew member is later filmed in the middle of an altercation at the plane exit.

Multiple airport staff are required to escort the two men, both dressed in casual clothing, away from the runway separately.

The Jet2 Airline says the disruptors have now been banned from flying with them following the ‘appalling behaviour’.

One passenger, Ian Boyle, had just boarded his flight before witnessing the spectacle.

He said the pair had become unruly after they began drinking a duty-free-bottle of vodka during the day.

Speaking in the aftermath of the event, Mr Boyle said: ‘The airline staff were doing their best but the drunk guy just overwhelmed them.

‘The police had to intervene because the man was so drunk he was uncontrollable.

‘Apparently, the two friends brought a duty-free bottle of vodka on board and thought it was okay to drink it while we were delayed.

‘It was quite a serious altercation.

‘There were kids on board who may never want to fly again.’

West Yorkshire Police said: ‘On 24 July, police received a request for assistance following a report of a disturbance at Leeds Bradford Airport.

‘Officers attended and arrested two males on suspicion of affray.

‘Both were later bailed pending further enquiries.’

A Jet2 representative stated: ‘We can confirm that due to their unacceptable behavior, two unruly passengers have been prohibited from flying with us, resulting in their removal by police.’

‘As a family friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour.’

The news comes following a separate incident last month, where a different drunk plane passenger also caused delays – this time for complaining about being forced to ‘sit next to a f***ing fat lady’.

The 32-year-old repeatedly pulled another female passenger’s hair, spat in her face and kicked her on a Southwest Airlines plane at LaGuardia Airport in New York en route to Kansas City in the early morning.

Several clips also showed the woman screaming at the unidentified passenger over her weight and clothing.

The ‘intoxicated passenger’ who donned long black hair, a red baseball hat and an all-black outfit, appeared to get verbally confrontational with the other woman just moments before things turned physical.

She then gripped the other woman’s hair and screamed: ‘Shut the f*** up, don’t f***ing touch me!’

The passenger was eventually escorted off the aircraft on a gurney and was not allowed to get back on the flight
