CHICAGO (WLS) — There’s all kinds of fall fun, pumpkins and scarecrows to haunted houses and theatre!

Scarecrow Weekend – St. Charles

It’s Scarecrow Weekend in Downtown St. Charles! More than 85 hand-made scarecrows will be featured throughout town for visitors to see and vote on their favorites! They’ll have live entertainment, family activities and a professional pumpkin carver Friday through Sunday.

Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival

The Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest has three all-you-can-carve pumpkin stations, live music, a carnival, a pet and children costume contest, and new this year, an interactive skeletons on display element! It runs through Sunday.

Boo! At The Zoo – Brookfield Zoo

Brookfield Zoo’s Boo! At the Zoo is back starting this weekend, and every Saturday and Sunday through October 23. Little ghosts and goblins can check out creatures, creepy crawlers, a creepy carousel, a corn maze and other Halloween themed events – them leave with a sweet treat!

Museum of I-Scream – Museum of Ice Cream

The Museum of Ice Scream has been transformed into the Museum of I-Scream, with shocking tricks and sweet magical treats through the month of October! Come in costume, you’ll get an ice cream mask and a treat bag to gather all your candy! Better scoop up tickets before they’re all gone!

Ghostbusters, Live in Concert! – Auditorium Theatre

On the film beat, watch the iconic movie Ghostbusters Saturday night at the Auditorium Theatre while the Chicago Philharmonic performs the award winning score! A pre-concert reception includes themed drinks, trick or treating and a costume contest!

Basement of the Dead – Aurora

On the Haunted House beat, Basement of the Dead and Shattered 3-D in Aurora, is the most award winning haunted house in Illinois – and it has new haunts and special haunted event nights this year! It runs through November 5!

Clyde’s – Goodman Theatre

On the theatre beat, Clyde’s is getting rave reviews at the Goodman Theatre – in fact, the Tony-nominated comedy about the formerly incarcerated kitchen staff at a truck stop café, who are given purpose and permission to dream, has been extended to October 16.

Chicago Fashion Week Preview – Water Tower Place

And Chicago Fashion Week is coming up. You can get a preview with two events on Saturday – a special fashion show presentation featuring Transgender and Non-binary models, and a Designer Reveal, where you can meet the designers of Chicago Fashion Week. Both will be held at Water Tower Place.

Nature’s PlaySpace – Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

Saturday is the Grand Opening of Nature’s PlaySpace at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum! Bringing the best of the outdoors indoors, this hands-on experience for children aged 1-7 focuses on Illinois habitats, engaging nature play and over 25 interactive sensory activities!

The Notebook – Chicago Shakespeare Theater

The World Premier of The Notebook at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater has been extended by popular demand! Based on the bestselling novel that inspired the iconic film, it now runs through October 30!

“Wicked” – Nederlander Theatre

The hit Broadway musical Wicked is back in town at the Nederlander Theatre for a limited run – it hasn’t been here since 2009! When Wicked opened in Chicago in 2005, it started the open-end, long running show trend of Broadway in Chicago, running for 3 and a half years! It’s easy to see why it’s so “popular.”
