Sami Zayn’s elevation to the No. 1 contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” was a decision that resonated well with fans. However, whether he can emerge victorious at the Royal Rumble remains to be seen.

For nearly a year, Zayn has been vocal about his ambition to clinch his first world championship. He will have the opportunity to fulfill this dream when he faces Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Zayn earned this chance by triumphing in a fatal four-way match against Randy Orton, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest.

The significance of the setting cannot be overstated. Zayn’s victory came at the Bell Centre in Canada, his home soil, with his wife and child cheering him on from the front row. In his post-match promo, he referred to them while talking about his quest for the title. Additionally, as a Syrian Muslim, Zayn is expected to receive considerable support from fans in Saudi Arabia, further adding to the narrative of his title pursuit, which remains one of WWE’s most compelling storylines.

The match concluded dramatically with Zayn executing a Helluva Kick on Priest, while Randy Orton was unable to intervene in time to prevent the pin. The finish not only protected the newly introduced Williams but also intensified Orton’s determination to capture his 15th world championship. Although the ending might have caught the audience by surprise, it added an intriguing twist to the unfolding drama.

It was a great moment to end a solid match when Zayn delivered a Helluva Kick to Priest as Randy Orton could not get in the ring in time to break up the pin. The newly called up Williams was protected, it will only fuel a livid Orton’s fire to win world championship No. 15, even if it felt like a finish that took the crowd too off guard.
