Sarah Jessica Parker reveals how she felt about Mr. Big's death

And just like that, her true love was gone.

Sarah Jessica Parker is expressing her thoughts on the passing of Chris Noth’s character, Mr. Big, in the first episode of the “Sex and the City” sequel, “And Just Like That…”

The popular HBO show, which first aired in 1998, depicted Mr. Big as one of Carrie Bradshaw’s (played by Parker) significant romantic interests, despite the challenges they faced. The characters eventually got married in the 2008 movie “Sex and the City.”

In 2021, viewers were left speechless after Mr. Big died of a heart attack in Carrie’s arms — which also had a profound affect on Parker, 60.

Discussing the storyline, the actress shared with E! News how difficult it was to portray Big’s death, stating, “Big dying was really, really hard to do both professionally and personally. That’s not just a thread. It’s one of the main arteries that you would struggle to do without.”

The “Hocus Pocus” star clarified that Carrie would, of course, be fine without Mr. Big, but it was still a completely different direction than the one she was used to over the past 27 years.

“It’s not like I needed it for my own health or well-being,” Parker put it, “but that was a hugely wonderful story to tell for a lot of years.”

“It just felt really untethered,” she added about Mr. Big’s sudden death. “It was really sad to say goodbye to that.”

For years, the great debate was should Carrie have ended up with Mr. Big — who once left her at the alter — or another love interest, Aidan Shaw (played by John Corbett).

“All of it was a mess, and all of it was wonderful,” Parker expressed about her and Big’s love story. “It was romantic, and it was a disaster. It was destructive, and it was healthy.”

“Sex and the City” ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and also starred Cynthia Nixon as Miranda, Kristin Davis as Charlotte, and Kim Cattrall as Samantha.

In Dec. 2021, multiple sexual assault allegations against Noth surfaced.

The actor, 70, has maintained his innocence in the years since.

After news broke of his alleged misconduct, Parker, Nixon, 59, and Davis, 60, released a joint statement in support of the women.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth,” the statement began. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”

During a 2023 interview with USA Today, the actor called the allegations “completely ridiculous” with “absolutely no basis in fact.”

“I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,” he said at the time. “What it isn’t is a crime.”

Parker, meanwhile, has maintained a close relationship with Nixon and Davis over the years.

“We were very lucky that we really loved our job,” the vet told E! News. “We aren’t looking back now and regretful.”

She added, “We laughed a lot and we worked really hard.”

The original show earned seven Emmys, with two Best Actress awards for Parker. The cast reprised their roles in the 2008 movie “Sex and the City” and “Sex and the City 2” in 2010.

“And Just Like That…” debuted in 2021.

The series saw Nixon and Davis return, but Cattrall, 68, opted not to reprise her role. Despite rumors of a feud between Parker and the “Mannequin” star, Samantha made a brief cameo in Season 2.

Parker told The Post in 2018: “I don’t have a disagreement with Kim, there’s no catfight … I’ve only ever expressed admiration and gratitude for everything she contributed — and I still feel that way.”

Season 2 of “And Just Like That…” also saw the return of Aidan Shaw. Season 3, which premieres Thursday, May 29, will pick up with Carrie and Aidan’s long distance romance.

Other stars who have joined the cast include Rosie O’Donnell, Logan Marshall Green and “Law & Order” actress Mehcad Brooks.

Although the beloved series has a strong fanbase, Parker herself has never watched either the original or the reboot in full.

“Oh my God, no. I don’t watch it, never seen it,” she revealed to E! News.

“Never seen ‘Sex and the City,’ most of them!”
