DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A Duval County school bus driver has been fired over accusations of having a relationship with a student, one of the school district’s bus vendors told First Coast News Tuesday.
The driver, Gregory Strigglers, 31, was arrested Monday on authority figure solicits or engages in lewd conduct with a student and unlawful use of a two-way communications device charges, jail records show.
Sriggler had first met the student in May 2025, where they exchanged contact information, according to his arrest report.
Student Transportation of America, one company Duval County Public Schools contracts with to manage transportation services for the school district, released the following statement regarding Strigglers’ arrest:
“The safety and well-being of the students we transport is always our top priority. As soon as this allegation came to our attention, the driver was immediately removed from routes and is no longer employed with the company. We are fully cooperating with local authorities and Duval County Public Schools as the investigation continues. There is zero tolerance for actions that put students at risk. Safety is a non-negotiable condition of every driver’s employment with Student Transportation of America.”
