In Oklahoma, a school district found itself in the spotlight after receiving alarming phone calls in response to the decision that a high school student, charged with multiple serious offenses, would not face any prison time.
Superintendent Tyler Bridges noted that while the origins of these calls remain unknown, the district has not received any additional calls with a menacing tone lately.
The student in question, Jesse Butler, entered a no-contest plea to 11 charges, including first-degree rape and strangulation.
