In a delightful nod to its leadership, Firehouse Subs is offering a complimentary steak-and-cheese melt on May 6 to a select group of individuals as a tribute to the company’s president.

WASHINGTON — Attention all Mikes! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 6. It’s your golden opportunity to snag a free sandwich from Firehouse Subs.

Whether your name is Michael, Mikey, Miguel, Mikaela, Michelle, Michele, Michaela, or any other variation, you’re eligible for a free meal.

The enticing offer includes a medium steak-and-cheese melt, available at participating locations, as announced in a Firehouse Subs press release.

Worried your first name isn’t Mike? No problem, as long as “Mike” appears on your ID, you’re in luck. Be prepared to present your ID to claim the sandwich.

“The Mikes are getting their moment, but the sub is for everyone,” the company’s social media commented on Instagram.

Why Mike? The company’s president is named Mike Hancock. PEOPLE reported the name selection is also a jab at sandwich competitor Jersey Mikes.

“We’re proud of this sub – the prime rib, the caramelized onions, the top-cut roll. Once people try it, we think it earns its place among the best steak subs out there,” said Mike Hancock, president of Firehouse Subs. “Sharing it with every Mike in America felt like a great way to kick things off.”

The sandwich comes on a top cut roll with provolone, brown sugar caramelized onions, and red and green bell peppers and flame-seared prime rib, according to the press release.

The deal is exclusive to participating locations within the United States and only on May 6. There are more than 1,200 locations across the U.S. The deal does not include locations in Canada, even though some accounts reposted the announcement video.
